Help grow cross-country skiing in Nova Scotia

Cross Country Nova Scotia is seeking individuals interested in joining the Board of Directors of Cross Country Nova Scotia. We invite you to consider contributing your skills and passion to the governance and promotion of cross-country skiing across our beautiful province. 

Our Board of Directors is vital to the success and growth of CCNS. We require a minimum of seven (7) and a maximum of ten (10) dedicated board members to ensure effective leadership and representation. These positions include:

• President (elected by general membership)
• Vice-President (appointed at an early board meeting)
• Secretary (appointed at an early board meeting)
• Treasurer (we have a nominee)
• Other Directors 

We are fortunate to have excellent operational support, which allows our Board to focus primarily on strategic direction and oversight. The Board is well-supported by a part-time communications director, who manages our outreach and messaging, and benefits from administrative support provided through Sport Nova Scotia. Board members typically commit three hours monthly: one hour for the on-line board meeting, one hour for meeting preparation, and one hour for sub-committee work.

As a result, the main responsibilities of our Board members revolve around governance and promotion of cross-country skiing in Nova Scotia. This includes setting the strategic vision, ensuring financial accountability, developing policies, and advocating for the sport’s development at all levels.

If you are passionate about cross-country skiing and believe you can contribute to the leadership of our organization, we encourage you to put your name forward or nominate another deserving member. Your involvement is crucial to helping CCNS continue to thrive and serve our skiing community.
