Hi Everyone!

I hope you had a successful and enjoyable 2026  ski season. Many of us are  transitioning into our spring and summer activities.

This letter is to inform you of a dryland masters workshop hosted by New Brunswick Masters Ski Association and Cross Country Nova Scotia, on June 5-7, at Les Aventuriers de Charlo, in Charlo, New Brunswick, that will be facilitated by Maurice (Moe) Samm, head coach of Chelsea Nordiq. The fee is $150 – members of New Brunswick Masters Cross Country Ski Association will receive a $20.00 discount. We will host a maximum of 16 participants with a minimum of 12 participants required – if we do not achieve minimum required participants, you will receive a full refund. Register on Zone4 by May 25 (there will be no refunds after this date, however you may pass your registration spot to someone else).

This is our second year coordinating the workshop and we hope to make it an annual event. We invite guest facilitators from various regions.

Moe Samm
This year the workshop will be facilitated by Moe Samm, head coach of Chelsea Nordiq. If you are interested in improving your technique and increasing your knowledge of how to incorporate ski specific fitness exercises into your training, this workshop may be of interest to you! The concepts and drills that Moe presents should help us all become more efficient skiers.

Biography – Moe Samm
Moe has been the head coach of Chelsea Nordiq for 12 years. During his time with Chelsea Nordiq many athletes have become very strong capable skiers and biathletes.  Moe has coached and supported athletes that have traveled to participate at the Paralympic and Olympic Games, World Championships, and many National and Provincial competitions.

Les Adventuriers has a 1.5 km roller ski course; trails for running, striding, bounding etc.; and of a ski chalet onsite. The chalet has a 10 bed dormitory for rent at $50.00 a night (1st 10 people who request the beds) plus a common kitchen.  Contact Dave to reserve accommodations, davidhubley@icloud.com.

Roller-skiing
One aspect of the camp involves roller-skiing. Adding roller-skiing to your training is a great way to improve technique. We understand as we age people become more averse to falling and apprehensive about roller-skiing. Practicing technique on roller-skis can be done in a controllable manner, where participants work at a comfortable pace while focusing on the technique cues for each discipline. “Challenge By Choice” is the motto.

There will be a small number of roller-skis to rent for $25.00 for the weekend. We have 12 sets of skate and 6 sets of classic all with NNN bindings. You will need to provide your own boots, poles, and helmet. Contact Dave to reserve roller-skis, davidhubley@icloud.com.
