A training partner of mine often comments, “as we get older, the hills get steeper & distances longer, time moves faster, and I move slower”. We cannot stop aging, however we can always improve our ski technique to make the hills and distances easier to manage.
As we age our desire to ski efficiently, effortlessly, and to maintain power does not diminish. As master athletes, many of us put in the hours to maintain our health and fitness . If any of this resonates with you, perhaps you should register for the 2nd annual masters ski camp in Charlo!
The goal of the camp is to bring like minded master skiers together for fun, fitness, and ski improvement.

The camp will be held at Les Aventuriers de Charlo, in Charlo New Brunswick, on January 17-19, 2025. We are fortunate to have two outstanding instructors Stephen Novosad and Stéphane Barrette. Stephen and Stéphane have contributed to coach and athlete development for Nordiq Canada. They also have experience with club and national program development.
Instructors
Stephen Novosad
Stephen Novosad is responsible for designing and delivering coach development training across Canada. Novosad is a passionate, knowledgeable and enthusiastic facilitator who has 40 years of coaching experience. Stephen facilitated a coach development workshop at North Highlands Nordic in Cape North, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. Stephen brought an infectious energy to the camp along with incredible knowledge of ski technique. Everyone came away with big new insights about technique and approaches to coaching. Stéphane Barrette
Stéphane Barrette has more than three decades of experience in sport management, planning, programming, coaching, and mentoring in the sport of cross-country skiing. Most recently, he served as chief executive officer of Nordiq Canada. As a former national team athlete, he has competed at the World Cup level.

In conjunction with the Masters development camp. We are offering a one day coaching workshop on Thur Jan 16, 2025. The focus of the workshop will be decided by participants in collaboration with Stephen Novosad and Stéphane Barrette. Minimum of 6 participants required.
