Regular cross-country ski maintenance will extend the life of equipment and safeguard your investments. Ski technician, Ike Whitehead, is keen to teach your organization’s staff and volunteers, simple technical skills that will keep your fleet in top condition. Workshops are also available for members of your community. Skiers will have the optimal experience on properly waxed and maintained skis!
Workshops are designed to teach simple techniques to properly care for ski fleets, provide practice opportunities for volunteers and staff, and encourage organizations to host sessions for their community members. We invite staff and volunteers to attend the community workshops to further practice and demonstrate their technical skills, alongside ski technician, Ike Whitehead.

If you are a community member who would like to attend a session, please check our calendar to view workshops in your area. Dates are also posted on CCNS facebook, Instagram and X.
Ski Technician
Workshops are voluntarily led by experienced ski technician, Ike Whitehead, also known as “that ski guy”. Whitehead is a ski enthusiast with more than fifty years in the sport. He welcomes every opportunity to assist groups with the basics, so that many will discover the joy of cross-country skiing.
Fee
Organizations are required to cover travel costs for the ski technician. Ike Whitehead leads sessions on a voluntary basis, and arranges for all supplies to be provided by his sponsor, Swix. One possibility would be to host a public clinic in your area. The fee for participants could go towards the expenses.
