Overview

Consider joining a cross-cross country ski association to meet like-minded individuals, and attend events across Canada and the world.  Specific to individuals 30 years and older, national and international associations offer regularly scheduled competitions for all levels of skiers.

Canadian Masters Cross-Country Skiing Association

The Canadian Masters Cross Country Ski Association (MCC) has been promoting cross-country skiing since 1980-81.  The annual membership ranges from 500-800 members. Canada is one of the 28 member nations that make up the World Masters Cross-Country Ski Association. The National Director of the MCC represents Canada at the World Masters Cross-Country Ski Association.

The Canadian Masters Cross Country Ski Association is governed by a Board of Directors with a director from each member province and territory sitting on the Board as well as a National Director. The Board meets annually during the National Masters Championships.

Note

There is currently no director representing Nova Scotia on the Board of Directors. If you have an interest in this role, please contact the MCC.

The World Masters Cross-Country Ski Association

The World Masters Cross-Country Ski Association (WMA) was formed in February 1982 as a worldwide association for masters cross-country skiers. The Association provides a common international platform for top competitive skiers as well as for those who simply enjoy racing, regardless of the ranking.

The WWA coordinates the “unofficial” Masters World Cup every year.  If you’ve been looking for a reason to race at international locations, consider becoming a member of the WMA.
