Congratulations!

Scotia XC Ski Club coach, David Hubley, is the recipient of the Cleve’s Source for Sports Impact Award, Coach of the Month, for April, 2024.

David is a long-standing cross-country ski coach for the Scotia XC Ski Club. David instructs the club’s elementary-age participants, working with them to develop their skill sets while ensuring their enjoyment and love of the sport remains at the forefront. David leads engaging and innovative lessons using skills-based games such as tag, chase, snow snakes, to make working on technique and skills fun. Cross-country often has a short season, so it’s essential to have a coach like David, who works tirelessly to ensure young program participants enjoy skiing and return for more each season. 

David Hubley is a Nordiq Canada NCCP certified coach, with Scotia XC Ski Club with decades of experience coaching all ages to ski. A physical education teacher with more than 33 years experience, Dave has dedicated his lifetime to sharing the value of sports with others, and creates a positive and social environment with all the groups he instructs.

Additionally, Hubley is a member of the Cross Country Nova Scotia, Board of Directors, overseeing coaching development for the province.
