Atlantic Canada Coaching Rendezvous
Cross Country Nova Scotia in collaboration with Nordiq Canada and North Highlands Nordic (NHN), are offering a Coach Development Workshop, on March 10th -13th, at North Highlands Nordic in Cape North, Cape Breton Island. Coaches from the Atlantic provinces who instruct intermediate-level skiers, and anyone interested in coaching/instructing at the intermediate level, are encouraged to attend. Logistics have been planned for participants including lodging, all meals, and nightly entertainment from talented East Coast musicians.
There are no fees for CCNS members to attend this workshop – accommodations and meals included. If you are an instructor from outside of Nova Scotia, you can apply to your respective provincial governing body for possible funding. Please contact us if you are not a CCNS member and require fee information, davidhubley@icloud.com.
Enrolment is limited to 20 participants.
Purpose
To support coaches/instructors of intermediate level skiers (and anyone interested in coaching intermediate level skiers) and to develop a stronger nordic coaching community in Atlantic Canada.
Who
This coach and instructor’s development camp is designed for anyone who instructs or coaches youth or adults at the ‘intermediate’ level (or is interested in coaching at the intermediate level). The workshop will not lead to a formal coaching designation but is loosely based on the design of Nordiq Canada’s ‘Learn to Train’ coaching course for coaching at the Track Attack level.
