Have you been searching for an outdoor sport to improve your fitness level while enjoying time in nature? Cross-country skiing within Halifax city limits is very accessible and reliable. Come out to play on skis with Halifax Nordic Ski Club.
Halifax Nordic grooms six trail systems in Halifax Regional Municipality and surrounding area, including lit night skiing and snow-making at The Links at Brunello; where all programs are scheduled to occur. Artificial snow-making ensures there is a reliable snow base, and the site is conveniently located three minutes beyond Bayers Lake and only 15 minutes from downtown Halifax.
Cross-country ski programs are designed to accommodate skiers of all experience levels. Qualified instructors ensure welcoming class environments where children learn skills through fun and interactive games. If your child is new to skiing, s/he can join a class of similar aged skiers, with no previous experience. Programs are designed for children of all ability levels, all are encouraged to join at any age. Lessons are available for skiers from ages 5 years through-adult.
Are you a parent that’s new to skiing or interested in improving your technique? Adult programs include the following levels for skate skiing: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Halifax Nordic is also offering classic skiing lessons. Did you know that by learning classic and skate skiing techniques you can expand your ski season? You’ll also increase the types of terrain you can access. Classic skiing allows you to ski with minimal snow coverage – especially on smooth grass surfaces.
Registration for Halifax Nordic programs opens on November 1st.
Halifax Nordic provides many groomed trail systems for you to enjoy a quiet ski through the woods, the magic of night skiing, events, programs, and more. For additional details visit, Halifax Nordic Ski Club.
