Canadian Association of Nordic Ski Instructors

Skiers interested in teaching the general public, or furthering their knowledge of cross-country skiing techniques, are encouraged to pursue instructor certification with the Canadian Association of Nordic Ski Instructors (CANSI).

About

CANSI is a non-profit organization designed to promote and advance the sport of nordic skiing (cross-country and telemark) in Canada, through the provision of high quality instruction.

Founded in 1976, CANSI unified three nordic ski instruction programs which included: Canadian Ski Association, Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance, and Ski Quebec. CANSI strives to promote a positive and proactive approach to teaching nordic skiing skills through lesson planning and instruction.

Training

CANSI offers four levels of certification in cross-country techniques and three in telemark. Advancement through the levels marks a progression in an individual’s ability to teach more advanced or expert skiers.

Course Calendar

No courses are scheduled at this time in Nova Scotia. We will post course offerings in Nova Scotia on this page and in our calendar. Please check the CANSI website for course listings across Canada.
